Luminescent Darkness

The Quarter Moon occurs at 9 a.m. UT in the 29th degree of Sagittarius. It assures us support from multi-dimensional energies which forever act upon, within and through us. Often unaware of their presence, we remain blind to their potential until the veils thin and we can more directly experience their existence as an integral part of who and what we are. In the midst of an eclipse season this Moon removes the veils entirely, offering direct knowledge of our sacred power.
Like pretty much everything about this month, this Moon is unusually powerful. Falling between a solar and lunar eclipse it connects the unstoppable power of the unfolding universe with our own unique ability to recreate our world anew. From their union is born a moment of profound grace at which we can peer into the well-spring of support underpinning even our darkest night. Whatever may be going on in our lives, be it good or bad, exciting or scary, welcomed or resisted with all our might, we are safe to let down our guard at this Moon and allow the cosmos to uniquely speak directly into our heart.
This Moon invites revelation of our inner most fears and deepest desires, offering them up to the cosmic will which knows, far better than we, what must come next. Harnessing the current lunar energies to this end will help us better understand where we go from here, the decisions to make, compromises to embrace, sacrifices to honour and where we must dig in our heels and refuse to budge. Whilst often overlooked, a waxing quarter Moon is an incredibly influential point in the lunar cycle for it is when the seeds of new beginnings sprout, bringing the future into being. Whilst the cycles of becoming stretch beyond those of an individual moon cycle, each such Moon invites us to consider the nature of the future we are shaping and what we contribute to our own destiny.
The Galactic Centre, which forms the heart of the Milky Way, marks the presence of a vast black hole, reminding us of the utterly unknowable nature of being which defies our understanding. Nothing returns from a black hole. Not even light escapes. This heart of darkness reflects the primal source of all existence, devoid of anything reminiscent of the world we know. Ultimately we come from elsewhere, from dimensions unexplored and existences borne only as vague memories in our deepest spiritual cells. The sheer vastness of space which birthed our universe and beyond defies all attempts to know it, forever expanding beyond our perception. We carry within us this same impenetrable mystery, asking to be known and yet defying our efforts to do so. We want to make sense of ourselves and our lives, find the formula, do the maths and come up with an equation that works, but all such endeavours will unavoidably fail.
This Moon knows the endless journey of becoming, the birth of every star as light and its inevitable descent into darkness. Black holes pay homage to the stars that gave their lives for them; the brighter they burned, the denser the darkness left behind. She reminds us we too are made of star stuff, luminescent blackness, embracing all extremes. Our minds won’t understand it but our spirits celebrate our starry origins and unavoidable intimacy with the infinite beyond.
This Quarter Moon invites us to get out of our head, open our heart and let our spirit reach to the edge of the cosmos from the depths of our core. In doing so we impregnate the present and fertilise the future, emboldened by the awareness there is always, and forever, so much more.
