3rd – 11th August 2015: Mars, Jupiter and Saturn Align

3rd - 11th August 2015 Mars, Jupiter and Saturn Align: As Saturn approaches Sagittarius for a lengthy stay we all need to get our resilience in gear and commit to staying realistically positive, not engaging in fantastical imaginings we could never bring to pass nor giving in to negativity which tells us we’ll never succeed. Whatever we hope and dream for, it is incumbent upon us to stay strong, to focus and identify the next step, not gaze, overwhelmed, at the long stretch of road ahead.

The First Step of a Thousand Miles

Forming a triangle which confronts our inner peace with outer challenge, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn remind us now that how we feel and not what we do is the most powerful indicator of personal and spiritual fulfilment. The smallest action emanating from a clear and focused mind carries greater power than the most flamboyant and courageous effort from a troubled one. How we manage the ups and downs of emotion that arise throughout the day, the ebbs and flows of enthusiasm, optimism and stress, largely dictates the efficacy of our efforts. In the coming days we have an opportunity to observe closely just how our inner state colours our impact upon the external world as we shift into a phase of what will sometimes be intense activity. In effect, we have the chance now to hone our efficiency and effectiveness by putting in place safeguards against the undue influence of fluctuating feelings.

Occurring as the Sun and Pluto highlight the positive potential of using our ego self in the world, this alliance further reveals important information about our orientation to the tasks at hand. If we need immediately gratifying results to sustain our enthusiasm for the path ahead we may be disappointed, for this is a time of effort not harvest and foundations laid now will fruit at a later date. Which is why we need a steady heart and a still mind to complete the tasks at hand. They won’t be hugely dramatic or even feel deeply satisfying, but they are incredibly important, more than words can say, and need to be honoured with our full attention and focused intent.

As Jupiter prepares to enter Virgo on 11th August we must decide the next practical step and then begin to take it. The unbounded confidence of Jupiter in Leo is being replaced with the quiet and careful activity of Jupiter in Virgo who honours each and every tiny step. It tests our Leonine dreams against reality, cutting them down to size to bring them into being. At first it may feel like a deflation: it looked so good in our head but now we try to manifest our ideas in the ‘real’ world it’s not looking so easy. Don’t worry. It’s all part of the process of bringing fantasy into form, testing our dreams against the material realm that requires sustained commitment to create something new. If, as a result, we must reshape our goals this doesn’t mean they were wrong, only that the next phase has now begun. We have stepped from unbounded imagination into defined reality in which we act both within the confines of the mundane realm and to subvert and expand them.

The ‘down-to-earth’ feel to the heavens right now may feel like a let-down for some. If that’s you, don’t despair. We’re being recalibrated into alignment with creative forces that will help us manifest real change in the material world. Which is why paying attention to our emotional state is so important right now, for it fuels our activity, shaping outcomes in ways we have yet to perceive. As Saturn approaches Sagittarius for a lengthy stay we all need to get our resilience in gear and commit to staying realistically positive, not engaging in fantastical imaginings we could never bring to pass nor giving in to negativity which tells us we’ll never succeed. Whatever we hope and dream for, it is incumbent upon us to stay strong, to focus and identify the next step, not gaze, overwhelmed, at the long stretch of road ahead. As Lao Tzu observed, a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, which is right infront of us here and now. It may look small and inconsequential, but taking it affirms that we’re on board with the process and will do what it takes to manifest fruit in the world.

At a time like this we need to reach out and support each other too. If we’re feeling a bit disheartened, sharing with someone who can lift us up again, who carries faith in our ability to deliver even when we lose it, can make the difference between setting out and staying put. Likewise if someone around us is struggling with what may feel like a lack of progress, a kind word here or some encouragement there may be all that’s needed to refocus them in the right direction. The quiet activity of this time stands in stark contrast to the courageous dreams of recent months. But that’s because we now have the chance to make them a reality, not simply lose ourselves in the fantasy of ‘what could be when’. The future is born from every step we take: each thought, word, emotion and deed. Being mindful of these supports our success, even as creation takes its own time, building tomorrow’s world piece by piece from who we are today.
