The Moon is full at 10:44 am GMT in the 8th degree of Aquarius and is one to shake us awake, whether we like it or not! There exists a brutal honesty about her, coupled with a deep and abiding commitment to truth no matter what. Many have waited a long time for this Moon. If you’ve been feeling held back, curtailed in some way, suppressed or stuck in a state of inaction, she comes to proffer the push necessary to get you moving again. The manner in which she does it, though, may take some by surprise and offend those of a more sensitive persuasion!
This Moon carries with it important responsibilities which may intimidate us when we first recognise their unavoidability. As we prepare for increased activity next month, it may become clear that we’re on the verge of taking on tasks and working towards goals that will require from us more than we’ve ever had to give. The harsh truths she delivers may expose where rose-tinted glasses have coloured our vision or caused us to be wilfully blind to obvious snares. Whilst this realisation may at first be unsettling, it will ultimately stand us in tremendously good stead if we take heed and do what’s needed to secure the path ahead.
There’s a feeling of chaos about this Moon. Whilst this sounds negative, we must remember that out of chaos all possibilities are born. It is the most creative force we know, for it discount and denies nothing. Its primal nature allows for the future to be utterly fresh, born of factors and elements never before seen in our lives. To the extent we’re prepared to release the reassuringly familiar in favour of formless chaos from which arises the new, we will in due course reap the rewards of this powerful Moon. She augurs the culmination of months of preparation, wondering, exploring and imagining. She lays our plans on the table, to be viewed with eyes unclouded by illusion, revealing their efficacy or need for adjustment and review.
This Moon holds up to us a mirror, urging that we see what we may have denied, those things that caused us to turn away before they’d fully penetrated our awareness. However we have perceived awakening to look, we must awaken also to that, seeing the illusions and self-deceptions that we may have propagated along the way. This is not a polite Moon and we may be a tad insulted by what we see. So be it. If we shy away from her revelations we must also attend to that and wonder why it is still such a challenge to see who we really are.
Ultimately this Moon offers a turbo boost to those prepared to receive it. Awakening is not an escape but a descent into the visceral nature of life in the raw without censorship, pretty veneers or sugar coating. It is life as it happens, for better or worse, lived on the edge and ready for anything. Her chaos is exactly that: life doing what it does best, creating the conditions for something new to emerge. It may not be what we’d anticipated and we may have to question plans that we thought were ready for execution, but whatever this Moon reveals it will take us deeper into the authentic truth about ourselves, our lives and the very nature of what it means to awaken in a world largely mobilised to keep us all asleep!
The challenge of this Moon is balanced by an equal force of cosmic support available to all. Whatever we fear to see in ourselves is still only us. Whatever we dread may happen is still only one tiny part of a complex whole that propels us towards wholeness. Sometimes we simply need it spelled out unequivocally to get the message: awakening doesn’t choose, it embraces all that is, as must we if we truly want to be free to express who we are beyond the layers of denial, avoidance and pain under which so many labour long and hard.
Out of this lunar chaos is gradually born a new paradigm to be built upon spiritual, not material values. She urges us to initiate a shift of perspective that changes the fundamental nature of how we judge ourselves, our lives and the world around us. If we trade popularity for authenticity, liberation for security and honesty for the illusions that keep us comfortably stifled, this Moon asks how we plan to do things differently if we’re ever going to fulfil our role as bringers of the Aquarian Age.
She doesn’t mince words, beat around the bush or wait for the ‘right’ moment. She knows the moment is now and truth will rise anyway. Far better sooner than later, in time not too late. Her chaos is rich and fertile, vital and full of promise. If we fear it we fear our very selves for we are born of the same design: chaos out of which form emerges, blossoms, fades and dies. The light of this Moon embraces it all and insists that we do the same.
