Unique and Unified
The Quarter Moon occurs in the 28th degree of Capricorn at 8:32 PM UT on 20th October. She speaks of the creative power of emotional connection with others and highlights relationships through which we become greater than the sum of our individual parts. Waxing to full in a week’s time, this Moon illuminates joint endeavours which encourage us all to become the very change we want to see.
In November the next major alignment begins (a square between Saturn and Neptune), to carry us through 2016. In the run up to this, life will be poking us here and prodding us there to step outside our comfort zone and try a new approach for size. Perhaps we need to see up close where before we took too broad a view, or consider the bigger picture where details were our downfall. Maybe courage is needed to offer ourself up to greater things, or humility to take our place in line. Whatever shift is needed to further unleash our potential, this Moon supports us in taking the next step.
The Sun still in Libra reminds us to share thoughts and feelings with others. The powerful alchemy of individuals joining force to create a tide of change is ever more significant in our world. A willingness to listen and learn from each other, to share and teach what we know, will propel us into ever deeper intimacy and understanding. It is time to relinquish certainty and embrace possibility, question ourselves and make space for ever deeper change. As we do so the very fabric of humanity shifts and changes, bearing a tighter weave but sewn with radiant and multicoloured threads.
Left to our own devices we can easily slip into limited mindsets and blinkered perspectives, overlooking our own incalculable worth. We are each unique beings, born of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energy, resplendent and radiant at our core. Being a small part in the unified heart of the One doesn’t mean we become insignificant automaton clones. On the contrary it affirms the importance of being who only we are – each one of us – and contributing that to the collective which needs us awake and alive, adding our own specific frequency, unique orientation and distinctive presence.
All this whilst acknowledging that just as we are part of the whole we are also the whole in its entirety, containing everything and everyone as a vibrant presence within us. Ultimately there is no ‘out there’ and ‘in here’ no ‘me’ and ‘you’. Our mind creates separation and our ego feeds off it, but at the end of the day we are no more separate than our brain is from our heart, both vital to our existence and dependent one upon the other. Whether we stand and stare at the endless cosmos or each other, we are looking within as well as without, born of the unified heart that knows no bounds.
This is a visionary Moon, practical but inspired and relentless in her pursuit of unity. Unsentimental but inclusive, she reminds us that a willingness to find shared ground is the salve that heals many wounds between people, groups and nations the world over. As she shines upon us she bids us reach ever wider to embrace difference, honour it and then root it in the common ground from which peaceful and abundant action is born. In separation we can only do so much. Together we can change the world, one awakened individual at a time.
